Dear Family and Friends of the community,
We are hosting a Family Friendly Fundraiser at Kid Ventures in Eastlake on Friday April 1, 2016, to help our sweet Jonah Villamil. Jonah is 4 years old and has spent the last four weeks in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Rady’s Childrens Hospital. What started out as common flu-like symptoms, has now evolved into an unfathomable sickness that has caused him to require numerous medications, special treatments, and complicated procedures to sustain his life.
Jonah comes from a family of 4 boys and he’s the second oldest in the line up. His oldest brother Julius (6 years old) is his role model and his best friend. They both share a passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and train at Alliance Jiu Jitsu in Eastlake. Even when Jonah was too young to train Jiu Jitsu, he would accompany Julius to class in full gear and pretend he was Julius’ water boy. Anything to feel like he was a part of Jiu Jitsu. Jonah also loves boxing, which is why they’ve nick named him “Pacquiao” at the gym. As soon he was able to train, he did! As soon as he was old enough to enter a tournament, he did!
Jonah was born a fighter, and he’s doing just that in the ICU right now. Jonah also has two younger brothers, Jayden (3) and Jace (1). They all share a love for Thomas the Train. As you can imagine, these boys are extremely close, not just in age, but also in the bond they share. Jonah’s smile is contagious. He’s that boy who loves to goof around and cause havoc, but he’s just as sweet as he is funny. His “larger than life” personality suits him perfectly.
This event we are putting together is to raise money to help out Jonah and the Villamil family. Our goal is to raise enough money so that Mark and Rhoda can concentrate on Jonah and the boys. We want them to be able to focus on getting him healthy again and as we all know, future medical expenses and unforeseen expenses may hinder their focus.
Each contribution, big or small, is a HUGE help. Our plan is to hold a raffle during the event. At this time, we are looking for sponsors and donations to help us with prizes to raffle off (i.e. gift cards, items for a gift basket, etc) and food/snacks to feed the guests who are attending the event. All proceeds raised from this event will go directly to the Villamil family.
A big THANK YOU in advance, for taking the time to read this and for even considering making a donation for Jonah. May God Bless you abundantly.
With love and hope for Jonah,
On behalf of the Villamil family

Yesterday's fundraiser event at KidVentures was beyond successful. The outpouring of love and support from our community is just so amazing. Every single prize we raffled and auctioned off was a donation from someone who was touched by Jonah's story. There were over 50+ small businesses owners and community members who donated 100+ prizes for us to raffle and auction off!!! Not to mention, all the food, drinks, and desserts provided were all donations as well.
We are still tallying up the funds we raised, but just know--the Villamil family is blown away by the overwhelming amount of love, support, and donations received from last night.
